Today Kim from LifeOverC's is sharing one of her fun Valentine's day activities! These beaded heart ornament are perfect for small children to make! The pipe cleaners are much easier for them to hold and work independently.
Materials needed for the beaded heart ornaments:
- Thread one bead onto the pipe cleaner leaving 1 inch at the end. Twist the end around the bead to secure it. This will make sure that the beads don't fall off as the child is working.
- Thread the beads onto the pipe cleaner. This is a good time to work on patterning if you want to add some learning to craft time. We laid our beads out in our desired pattern before threading them onto the pipe cleaner.
- Fill up the pipe cleaner leaving another inch at the end. Fold the end to create a loop for hanging. Then twist the two ends together to create a circle.
- Form the circle into a heart shape. We folded it flat and then pressed one of the creased ends down into the other end.
That's it! Now add some string and hang it for a fun Valentine's Day decoration!
