I came across a fabulous craft idea for Christmas from Rachel on Instagram! She is a 4th grade teacher who also has a great facebook page so make sure to follow her! She used a simple technique of bleeding markers to make gorgeous sun catchers. Here's a look into her classroom art project...
Materials Needed:
- Large coffee filters
- Markers
- Spray bottle
- Water
You can see the size difference from a normal coffee filter and a large one!
Have the kids flatten out their big coffee filter and draw a Christmas tree on it. After that have them cut it out and decorate it with colored markers.
Once their whole tree is filled with color, fill a spray bottle with water and have them wet their coffee filters.
Let them dry for a couple hours/overnight and you will have beautiful Christmas tree sun catchers to put in your window! I LOVE them!
