Today I had a love/hate relationship with this Halloween craft. I tried making this pumpkin toilet paper roll lantern art project and it was more difficult than I anticipated! Maybe I am just gifted or it was harder using a toilet paper roll rather than just cutting paper. I would recommend this to older kids because the frustration level could get high - LOL! These are perfect to hang up for some Halloween garland in a classroom or at home!
Materials Needed:
- Tape/glue
- Orange, green, and black paper
- Scissors
- Toilet paper roll
The first thing I did was wrap a toilet paper roll in orange paper then I folded another sheet of paper in half and cut slits in it (I measured the height of the toilet roll first and it was a little long - you'll have to experiment) After that we taped both ends to one side of the toilet roll, make sure the middle sticks out further.
Wrap the whole thing around and tape it closed. We would of used glue but it was super hard to wait for it to dry. Cut two strips out of green paper, one for the top and one for the bottom.
Cut out some black jack-o-lantern face pieces and glue them on! Make sure you hold them down for awhile or they will fall off. Cut a skinny green strip of paper and tape it to the top inside of the toilet roll to be the lantern's handle. Taa-daa!
Funny moment of my day- I was editing my photos and this one little ant photobombed almost all of them! haha!
