Today I am sharing a super crafty idea from Creative Play in BKK (a primary school teacher and mom of 2!) She dyed bags of rice for the kids to play in! Make sure you are always supervising when younger children are playing in this (choking hazard).
Supplies Needed:
- White vinegar
- Food coloring
- Rice
- Ziploc bags
- Aluminum foil
To make the colored rice, put a few tablespoons of white vinegar and food coloring with a few cups of rice into a Ziploc bag. Swish about until rice akes on the color then tip it onto foil to dry. This takes an hour or so. Repeat for different color batches. It is so easy and lasts for months! It is perfect to make sensory bins for kids. I just love how vibrant the colors are and how fun they look once combined.
Here's what the rice first looked like....a rainbow! Time to play ;-)
