Begin by printing the fall leaves printables. They’re easier to trace if you print on cardstock.
Cut out the leaves.
Now, position one leaf in the center of a sheet of white cardstock. If you’re working with young kids, you can use glue dots or double sided scotch tape to keep the leaf in place.
Then, use a white crayon to trace all around the leaf.
When fully traced, lift the leaf. At this point, you can make some leaf vein lines where you think they should go. You won’t be able to see exactly where they’re placed, and that’s what makes crayon resist so much fun.
Next, gather watercolors and begin painting all across the paper.
You can paint with any colors and any design. You’ll see your leaf design start to emerge as you paint!
Once fully painted, be sure to let the paint dry completely before hanging up and admiring your colorful fall leaves.
