Woohoo! The Kids Craft Stars monthly challenge was to create something out of recycled egg cartons so we made a turtle! You might want to make a template for the turtle's body if you're working with younger kids.
Materials Needed:
- Egg carton
- Brown paint
- Green paper
- Scissors/Glue
- Googly eyes
- Brown marker
Start by cutting out 4 cups of an egg carton connected. Trim off the extra stuff around the edges. Put it in the middle of a green piece of paper and draw the turtle's head, arms, and feet.
Cut out the body (it does not have to be perfect but make sure it's big enough to glue the egg carton to). Take a brown marker and draw shapes all over the egg carton.
Take some brown paint and cover the egg carton. Let dry and glue onto the green body! Add some googly eyes and you're done :)
