Hi I'm Ana from Mommy's Bundle and am so exciting to be sharing a kid's craft here at Crafty Morning!
If you're looking for a beautiful Valentine's Day kid's craft, this one is so easy and makes a pretty gift for that special someone!
To make your coffee filter flower craft you'll need just a few supplies.
Materials:
- Coffee filters (I used about 6)
- Markers
- Dropper
- Water
- Toilet paper roll
- Green paint
- Brush
Step 1: Decorate Your Flowers
To make your flowers, grab some vibrant markers and have the kiddos color over the coffee filters. They can use as many different colors as desired, but best to use complimentary colors for each flower.
Step 2: Add Water
Next have the kids use a water dropper to distribute 3-5 drops on each coffee filter. The colors will bleed into each other to make a fun tie-dye look. Be sure to have paper towels or a disposable table cloth for each clean-up.
Set the coffee filters aside to dry for a couple hours.
Step 3: Assemble Flowers
Once the filters are dry, scrunch them up and twist underneath to create your desired flower shape. We used 2 filters per flower for a fuller look.
Then staple the ends together.
Step 4: Add a Stem
Grab a toilet paper roll and have the kids use washable green paint to create a stem. We decided to cut our roll in half to make them easier for the kids to handle.
Set toilet paper roll aside to dry for a few hours or overnight.
Once the stem is dry, you can attach the flower. You can simply stuff the filters in towards the center or add some glue to secure.
The result is a beautiful flower the kids can give to mom and dad or to their Valentine of choice :)!
