- Crochet Owl Basket –Â Basket: Ch 1 and put six sc in it. 2sc in each around (rnd 1). (2sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next) around (round 2). (2sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next 2 sts) around (round 3). Continue increasing in pattern (increase on top of previous increase, but do not increase in round 6 or last round of base) until you get a total of 70-something stitches. Do sc in the back loop of each sc around for 1 round. Do sc in both loops until cylinder is one round from desired height. Do sc nearly halfway around, ch4, skip next 3 sc, sc until 3 sts from beginning of round, ch4, skip 3sc, do 2 sl st and fasten off. Weave in ends. Copy eyes and beak from any other owl pattern using regular yarn. Sew or fabric glue to basket. Use T-shirt yarn scraps to make tassels (“lark’s head knot” three or four strands to each ch4 “handle”).
