Candy Cane Bow Toppers

How to Make Candy Cane Bows

If you’re looking for a holiday treat that looks impressive but is secretly super easy, let me introduce you to Candy Cane Bows—the sweetest little toppers for cocoa, cupcakes, or just snacking straight off the tray (no judgment here). My kids think I’m basically Mrs. Claus when I make these, and honestly… I’ll take it.

These melt just enough in the oven to shape perfectly, and once they cool, they hold that adorable bow form. And yes, they taste exactly like childhood Christmases and peppermint magic.

FAQs

Do I have to use mini candy canes?

Nope! Regular ones work great. The bows will just be larger and extra adorable.

My candy canes got too melty—what happened?

Ovens vary! If yours runs hot, try reducing the bake time by a couple of minutes. They should be soft, not puddly.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes! Store finished bows in an airtight container at room temperature for several days.

Can kids help with this?

Absolutely! They can unwrap candy canes, set them into shapes, and add toppings. Just keep little hands away from the hot tray.

Candy Cane Bows

Materials

  • Candy Canes mini or regular size

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 175 degrees F.
  • Unwrap your 2 candy canes, then turn them to look like a bow shape. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 11 minutes.
  • Take out of oven and gently push them together.
  • Using other candy canes, break small pieces of the curve. Then place it in the center of the bow.
  • Place back in the oven for 11 minutes.
  • Gently pinch the middle and straighten the "ribbons" at the bottom.
  • Let completely cool.

Notes

I recommend doing smaller batches as they can harden fast and break. If they do, just re-heat them and push it back together.
