Am I the only one to keep pretty tins, just incase I need it for something? (I love to upcycle and recycle) Well, today I actually got a use for this pretty heart tin- a chalk heart tin, perfect as a Valentine gift!

I used chalkboard sticker and a chocolate heart tin, but you can use any heart shape tin you can find. (Or any tin, for that matter, just cut the chalk sticker in a heart shape.)

The inside of the lid was not smooth enough for the sticker, so I attached it to a cardboard heart first. To get the shape and size perfect, I traced the bottom piece of the tin. Then I placed it inside the lid, quite tightly.

I covered up the front with another piece of sticker. I used the grooves as guidance as to where to cut it:

I added the word Draw Your Heart Out as an example of what you can write on the front. One could do this with chalkboard marker(which I do not have). Chalk were added to the tin:

There ya go, a cute Valentine gift- frugal, practical and sweet too!

No excuse for using the tins you saved, right?

This will be perfect for traveling, church or for waiting times. I bet any friend will enjoy this chalk gift...
