In honor of St. Patrick’s Day coming up, we decided to get out some toilet paper rolls and make a little Leprechaun! There are a lot of steps in this project so you will probably have to assist younger kids. I think he turned out pretty cute and it hardly cost anything to make! (LOVE cheap crafts)

You will need green/yellow/black/tan/white construction paper, scissors, glue, tape, a black marker, orange pipe cleaner,

Start by gluing a green sheet of paper around the toilet paper roll. Then cut another green rectangle and roll it around the top for the hat part. You can tape or glue it on (taping is faster!)

Cut a green circle with a hole in the middle. Push it over the top of the toilet paper roll for the rim of the hat. Glue on the face, eyes, buckle, etc.

Here’s the tricky part! Measure how long you’ll need your orange pipe cleaner to be and then put GLOBS of glue stick on the back of it. We tried using Elmers glue but it popped right off even after holding it. This will be the Leprechaun’s beard :)

Next, you’ll need to cut two strips of green paper for the leprechauns arms and make a little pot of gold out of black paper. We just put glue on the top and sprinkled it with gold glitter.

Glue the arms onto the sides of the leprechaun and have the tips glued to the pot of gold’s handle. There you have a cute little guy to play with for St. Pattys day!

  1. I was so grateful to find this model. My son is home schooled and needed to make a model to go with his leprechaun story and we couldn’t find one, until this one.
thank you for making it possible and easy to do.
