Last year we made some cute fingerprint elves so I thought it would be a great idea to put them on a Christmas ornament! We used a mason jar lid to make it into a homemade gift. Instead of "Santas little helper" you can say "Grandma's little helper" too cute!
Materials Needed:
- Mason jar lid
- Glue / Scissors
- Green sparkly pipe cleaner
- Washable paint
- Sharpie
- Red marker
- Green glitter
Start by taking out the mason jar's inside lid and tracing it on a piece of white card stock paper. Dip your child's thumb in green paint and stamp it on the paper. Mix up some skin colored paint and have them use their pointer finger for the head. Glue the white circle inside the mason jar lid.
While the paint dries, sprinkle some glitter on the elf's body. Draw on legs, arms, buttons, face, etc with the black sharpie. Have the elf hold a heart or something meaningful to whoever you're going to give it to! Finish the ornament by twisting a green sparkly pipe cleaner and hot gluing it to the back. Write "Grandma's little helper" or a different person's name.
