Oh the classic chili dogs…they are always a favorite meal! If you want to switch it up at home try my mozzarella stuffed chili dogs using cheese sticks! With kids you always have those in the fridge anyways, right? ;-) Beware though because it’s delicious & addicting comfort food!
- 2 cans of chili, or homemade
- 4 string cheeses
- 1 package of hot dogs
- 1 can of crescent rolls
Preheat the oven to 375. Warm the chili on the stove until it is at a simmer (or if you’re in a time crunch use the microwave!) Cut a slit into each of the hot dogs through the middle and stuff with cheese. Place on a triangle of crescent dough, seam side down, and roll up.
Pour the chili in a 13×9 pan and top with the crescent dogs. Brush with the optional topping, and bake 20-25 minutes until deeply golden.
- 1 tbsp of butter, melted
- 1 tsp of parsley
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Brush the melted butter over the crescent rolls before baking, then sprinkle with the herbs.
