I got an idea to turn some styrofoam cups into fun flowers! They turned out great and kids can make them into centerpieces or they would make cute gifts for teachers, grandparents, etc.

Materials Needed:

  • Styrofoam Cup
  • Paint
  • Straw
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Start by cutting slits around the top of the styrofoam cup. Carefully bend them backwards to make flower petals. Pieces of styrofoam WILL break so grab a piece of clear tape and stick it to the back.  For the second type of flower cut actual flower petal shapes by cutting "triangles" downwards. Poke a hole on the bottom of the cup and stick a straw through it. Cut the piece that sticks out so it looks like part of the flower.
