I was inspired by my garden today and thought we should make a big paper plate flower to hang up! There's a lot of painting and cutting required so this might be good for the older kids. You could also make it into a sun (craft probably coming soon!) This is the perfect art project for sunny days in the summer time.
Materials Needed:
- Red, orange, and yellow paint
- White, green, and red paper
- Paper plate
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Glue
Start by having your kids paint a white sheet of paper with all the colored paints and let dry!
After that paint a paper plate with yellow/orange paints and let dry. Cut the first piece of paper into strips and make "loops" stapling them to the back of the paper plate. Cut up some extra red paper strips to add to the gaps.
Cut out a green stem and leaves, gluing them to the back of the paper plate. There you have a big beautiful flower!
