Hi friends! This month the Kids Craft Stars group challenge was to make something out of veggie/fruit stamps! I grabbed my celery from the fridge and we made a nice bright rainbow fish craft! This is one of my favorite activities so far :-)
Materials Needed:
- Printable Rainbow Fish Template
- 1 stick of celery
- Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple paint
- Googly eye
Here's a video tutorial...
Cut up one stick of celery into 6 pieces. Put out rainbow colored paints and have the kids dip each one.
Starting from the front of the fish, stamp the celery to make it look like fish scales!
The kids can also paint the fins and tail if they want!

Even though its the end of the day, I just got so excited with all these wonderful craft ideas for my students! I love the celery-colored fish! Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for this fun and creative idea! I used for a preschool co-op today. The theme was "colors." We read The Rainbow Fish, then made this craft. We tried some glitter glue over some of the scales (just like the fish in the book). :) Turned out so cute! The kids loved it! It was really different and fun for them. Thank you!
I love this! Planning to use it as a camp craft with kids at the botanical garden this summer! Thank you so much for all your wonderful craft ideas.
