Today we made baby Jesus in a manger by using the kids handprints! It turned out super cute and was really easy to make. This would be cute for a Christmas card, gift tag, or anything else you can think of!
Paint your child's hand with brown washable paint. Push it against a white piece of paper and let dry.
Take some yellow paint and make a circle with outward strokes. This is going to be the hay that the baby will lay on.
Cut out an oval and a circle from white paper. Color the face skin color and the body with a blue crayon. Draw the eyes and a mouth with a black marker. Glue them on top of the yellow paint and you're done!

Did this craft today! Had the oldest child paint her own hand, and when she pressed it on she didn't push her thumb down hard enough to show... We both liked that so she helped paint the younger kids but didn't paint their thumbs (so it only had four legs instead of five). Then we cut up scrap yellow pieces of paper for the kids to clue down for the hay (wanted to use real hay but didn't have time to grab any). I put the baby Jesus together and had each child draw the face with a sharpie before gluing him down too. They LOVED this! Had a variety of ages too, 2-5. Thanks!
This is such a cute craft! I think that kids could also help with the painting of baby Jesus if you were feeling brave that day. :-) Pinned.
