Inspired by the Disney movie Turbo, we decided to make a little snail out of toilet paper rolls! It was very easy to do and can be modified in any way you want. Turbo's head should of been orange, oh well, next time! :-)
Start by cutting a toilet paper roll in half (or smaller) then cut a slit down the middle of it.
With the extra toilet paper roll parts, cut a "wing" for turbos shell.
Roll the toilet paper roll in a spiral, cut out a orange/yellow Turbo head and glue them together. We also painted his body blue with watercolors (didn't turn out the greatest, I would use a different paint next time!) Then cut/glue two white circles out of paper to make his eyes.
Glue the wing onto turbo's back and add some lines with a glue bottle for his red stripes.
Shake some red glitter over the glue and let dry. We also put some glue on the edges of turbo's shell and put gold glitter on it.
The last step is to make a racetrack out of black construction paper and a white crayon. Taa-daa! My little 3 year old friend sent Turbo round n' round n' round the track :) Have fun!
