Egg Carton Hatching Chicks (Kids Craft)

Today I turned recycled egg cartons into egg shells for little chicks to sit in! I think this is a super cute Easter craft for older kids to make. You could also buy the white egg cartons to make it look more realistic. I think it’s fun to paint them like a Easter egg though!

Start by hot gluing eyes and a beak onto the big puffy yellow pom poms to make the chicks. Using a sharp scissors or knife, cut out individual egg carton cups. Trim around the edges so they are all level.

Take a knife or scissors (knife is easier) and make the egg shells “cracked” (cutting triangles out of the egg carton).

Put some glue in the bottom of the cup and stick the chick inside. The tops fall off super easy so you could hot glue them or just have the kids play!
