How to Freeze Avocados

All these years I have been tossing those avocados that are ripe one day and the next it's completely black inside!! I wish I had known you can freeze them for up to 4 months! They don't turn brown! Although they have a different mushy texture so eating it plain wouldn't be the best. Try blending it to make yummy guacamole, dressings, etc!

Supplies Needed:

  • Avocados
  • Knife
  • Gallon size ziploc bags
  • Drinking straw

Directions:

When your avocados start to get black-ish color and you can squish it with your fingers a little you know it's time to freeze! Cut the avocado in half lengthwise and scoop the pitt out (you can leave it if you want). Put the avocado halves in a Ziploc bag all facing down. Zip the bag until the end and stick a straw inside then zip it down more. Suck as hard as you can so the air goes out and shut it tight as you pull the straw out. Stick in the freezer. When you want to enjoy one just pull it out and thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours.
