If you get leg cramps at night, you know just how horrible it can be! We set out to you guys to hear what works for you!

Leg Cramp Prevention

Magnesium

"My doctor told me it was due magnesium deficiency that all I need is to drink tonic water which has Quinine and this should stop the leg cramps. It does work."-Sonia E

Stay Hydrated

Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day as dehydration can trigger leg cramps.

Tonic Water

" Best thing for cramps is a small bottle of diet tonic water. Cramps gone in less than 5 minutes."-Debra S

"Tonic with quinine was recommended by my husband's doctor. Since he started drinking it daily - no more cramps. We have had peaceful nights for 4 months"-Andrea D

Bar of Soap

"I sleep with a bar of soap by my feet. If I wake up with foot/leg cramps I find the soap with my feet and hold it between them. Works 95% of the time."-Jane U

"About 2 years ago I read an article about putting a bar of soap under the bottom sheet near the legs to remedy leg cramps. As stupid as that sounded, I had ongoing leg cramps and was ready to try almost anything for relief. I put a bar of zest under the sheet and have never had a single leg cramp since. I found an article from a doctor that said many people have found relief from the soap - he's not sure why but suspects it might be a transfer of ions."-Cindy N

Leg Cramp Remedies

Flat Feet

When you get the cramp, immediately stand up and put your feet flat on the floor to stretch. The pain will be gone in seconds! Or if you can't walk, you can use the footboard of the bed, pushing against the wall or door frame.

"It normally wakes me up in the middle of the night and as soon as I feel it coming, I flex my foot up so my toes are pointing towards my face. If I do that I don't even get the Charlie horse and can go right back to sleep."- Jess C

Pickle Juice

"My doctor recommended a couple of sips of pickle juice. Tried it and the cramp was gone in a one minute. Later found out that the coach at our local high school uses this for his football players when they get leg cramps during games."-Juelette F

"Pickles and especially pickle juice are high in magnesium. When a bad cramp hits, I limp to the kitchen and drink some pickle juice,. It's an acquired taste."-Nikki M

Pinch Your Lip

" Pinch your upper lip as hard as you can and pull it outward. Sounds crazy but works every time for me. Only takes a few seconds for relief. Similar to acupuncture."-Linda S

Mustard

"I take 1 teaspoon of French's Yellow Mustard and just swallow it and the cramp is gone within 10 seconds. I don't know why athletes don't do this."-Tracy C

"Keep mustard packets from fast food places in your night stand. I've been using them for years and mustard works within seconds."-Zina T
