Melted Crayon Pumpkin Decorating Idea
I came across such a fun no carve pumpkin decorating idea today on Instagram! Sam_Thrive360Living is one of my favorite accounts to follow on there so you should too! Sam also has a great Facebook page that you can keep up with on her fun projects! She made these awesome melted crayon pumpkins with her kids! I think any child would love to do this crafty art project.
Materials Needed:
- Real white pumpkin (or orange)
- Crayons
- Tacky Glue
- Blow dryer
How to make it:
- Unwrap your crayons
- Cut the crayons in half
- Glue about 16 crayon pieces using tacky glue to the pumpkin
- After the glue has dried, use a hair dryer to melt the crayons
Sam said “My hair dryer didn’t blow too hard so it was easy to direct the melting. -We did this outside on a tarp covered in garbage bags. The garbage bags look super pretty!”
Beautiful decoration for fall, I hope to try this soon for Halloween!

I didn’t have a white pumpkin so I just used white printer paper and it worked out ok!
dont skip the tacky glue! Otherwise they go everywhere as we learned!
I bet if you put some card stock, cardboard, or paper under the pumpkins you can get some pretty nice designs that you can then take and use for other decorating ideas…..like a wall print, gift cards. etc.
Thanks for this great craft! It ties in nicely with our 60s/ 70s theme birthday party this month! :D
