Did you know there are more than 350 different species of parrots? Amazing! We visit the pet store often to get food for our pet bearded dragon: Drogo. Every time we are there the kids love to visit the Parrots. They love trying to teach the parrots new words. They are so thrilled every time the parrots do talk to them. With just a few art supplies (paper, paint, scissors, etc.) you can make your own parrot at home.
Okay, here's what you need:
- Light colored card stock for the background
- Construction paper (white, red, & black)
- Scissors
- Paint (blue, red, & yellow)
- Pencil
- Paint brush
- Glue
- Feathers (red, yellow, green)
- Googly eye
And here is how you make it:
Draw the shapes for the parrots body, wing, beak, & feet. Glue the pieces (except the wing) & goggly eye onto the card stock.
Paint the wing red, green, blue, & yellow. Allow to dry.
Glue the eye, beak, wing, & feathers onto the bird.
