While going through my craft supply drawers I found some extra plastic spoons and I got the idea to make them into turkey feathers!  I think they turned out cute and would be fun to make at Thanksgiving time.

Materials Needed:

  • Paint
  • Plastic Spoons
  • Glue/hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Brown, orange, red card stock paper
  • Googly eyes

Start carefully cutting off the ends of the plastic spoons with a scissors or knife (it's okay if they crack!) Take brown, red, orange, and yellow paint and make patterns on the back of the spoons.

While the paint is drying, cut out the turkey's body, feet, beak, etc. Take a hot glue gun and put a dot on the bottom of the spoon pieces and stick it to a white piece of card stock.

Glue the turkey's body overlapping the "feathers" a little bit and you're done!

I saw the painted spoons on Instagram and was pretty sure that the end would a turkey. Love it!
