I'm so excited to tell you guys about this cool Kiwi Crate I received for free from Gymboree! I had heard of these craft boxes but never tried them. Let me tell you...they are awesome! If you have a bunch of kids to entertain these are so easy for them. It comes with all the supplies (even tape!) and a booklet with step by step instructions.

In celebration of Hop ‘N’ Roll, Gymboree partnered with KaBOOM! – a national non-profit organization that works to ensure that all kids have a childhood filled with active play, especially those in underserved communities. From April 6 – May 31, Gymboree will be supporting KaBOOM! with a series of programs and activities-- including donating a percentage of proceeds from the line and creating an exclusive arts & crafts box with Kiwi Crate (these racing wind cars!) —with the goal of raising enough money to build a place to play for 10,000 deserving kids in 2015!

Materials Used:

  • Wooden wheels
  • Straws
  • Playdough
  • Rods
  • Paper
  • Craft sticks
  • Tape
  • Foam board
  • Stickers

First you start by decorating the little foam boards and paper with colorful stickers. Then you tape two short straws on each end of it. Stick the wooden rod through the straw and add a wheel/piece of playdough to the end. Do both sides so the wheels won't fall off. There should be a slit in the middle of the foam piece to stick the popsicle stick in. I seriously love these colored ones they gave! Once the sails are attached, here comes the fun part...

Have your kids blow the back of the sail to make them move! We brought ours outside on a windy day and they were rolling all over the place on the driveway by themselves. Too fun! Make sure to check out this Kiwi Crate and Gymboree's new Hop n' Roll clothes line!
