There are over 4,500 species of crabs in the world.  However hermit crabs, king crabs, porcelain crabs, horseshoe crabs, & crab lice are not real crabs.  How interesting!!!  Although our crab isn't a "real" crab it was still really fun to make.

  • styrofoam bowl
  • glue
  • red paint
  • googly eyes
  • pencil
  • pain brush
  • scissor
  • red card stock

Let's make our crab...

1) Paint the bowl & let dry.

2) Draw the pincers & cut out.  Cut out 8 equal sized strips for the legs & fold in half.

3) Glue the pincers & legs onto the the bowl.

4) Glue on the googly eyes & you are done!

Crabs communicate with each other by drumming or waving their pincers.
