Today I get to share another amazing no carve pumpkin idea for Halloween! Thanks to Kylie for letting me share her darling decoration. They made Olaf the snowman from 5 pumpkins but unfortunately she said they had an attack of squirrels and Olaf never made it to Halloween hehe! It's supposed to look like his head fell off and he's reaching to get it which works perfectly on the front steps :-) Instead of having to deal with oozing pumpkin guts, this is a great alternative for kids who don't like to get their hands messy.
Materials Needed:
- 3 tiered sizes of pumpkins and two small gourds
- White spray paint (Acrylic would work too)
- Black sharpie or paint
- Corn cobb (or long gourd/ real carrot)
- Brown pipe cleaners
- Hot Glue Gun
- Dowel Rods
Here are Kylie's instructions...
Spray two coats of white paint on all pumpkins.
HEAD: Can use corn cob or long gourd for nose. Drill hole in cob & pumpkin & put dowel rod in cob & insert in pumpkin. Use hot glue around hole in pumpkin to slow rot process. Draw face on with a black sharpie. Drill hole in stem & use pipe cleaners for hair. Hot glue hole.
BODY: Cut down/break off stems of pumpkins to make them stackable. Drill & put dowel rod through top of bottom pumpkin & bottom of top pumpkin. Hot glue around holes. Drill & put dowel rods through small pumpkins for feet & place on bottom pumpkin. Hot glue holes! Draw on buttons w/ marker. Place pipe cleaners in top pumpkin for arms. Hot glue holes!
Enjoy & Happy 'Frozen' Halloween! PS: How cute is her daughter in the picture!??
