11 Dollar Store Buys that are Worth Every Penny

If you haven’t found the value in the Dollar Store, you are missing out! It is difficult to choose just 10 items worth every penny because there is so much worth every $1. However, here are 10 Dollar Store Buys you don’t want to miss out on!

#1 Italian Ice Cups

This is like the best icecream of all time! It comes in a 4-pack. So, you really get your money worth. The Dollar Store also has popsicles, icecream cones, and other freezer items.

#2 Afterschool Snacks

If you have kids, then you know they will eat you out of house and home. So, don’t get expensive snacks that are going to be gone in 30 seconds flat. Instead, head to the Dollar Store for chips, cookies, pretzels, nuts, pudding packs, fruit cups, and veggie sticks.

#3 Dishes

If you want nice dishes that go with each season, the best place to find them is at the Dollar Store. Of course, each plate, bowl, etc costs a dollar. So, in essence, you can get 4 cups, 4 bowls, and 4 plates for $12.

#4 Halloween Costumes

Halloween costumes can get expensive when you shop anywhere else. You don’t get a ton of options at the Dollar Store, but what they have is worth every penny. They have hats, wigs, accessories, face paint, and various outfits for both boys and girls. Check them out before you go anywhere else.

#5 Easter Basket Supplies

I never shop anywhere else for my Easter Baskets. I can get so much more to put in my kids Easter Baskets than I could buying a premade one from any other store. With eggs, candy, toys, and games, the Dollar Store is the perfect place to find all your Easter Basket supplies.

#6 Sunglasses

I don’t about you, but I always lose my sunglasses. I mean like every other day! The Dollar Store is the perfect place to buy cute sunglasses at a price that you can afford on a pretty daily basis. Grab some for yourself or the kids because they have all sizes, types, and varieties.

#7 Travel Supplies

When you are going on a trip, you don’t want to tote along a full bottle of shampoo and conditioner. The Dollar Store has everything you need in travel size. Not only do they have travel supplies, but they have empty travel size bottles where you can fill up on what you normally use. Here’s what they have:

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Face cleaning wipes
  • Bath soap
  • Deodorant
  • Travel bottles
  • Travel size toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Shaving cream and razors
  • Q-tips
  • First Aid kits

#8 Party Supplies

There is no lack of party supplies at the Dollar Store. Seriously, birthday parties can get expensive, so before you head to your local store, check out the Dollar Store. You can get the following items:

  • Tablecloths
  • Leiys
  • Paper plates
  • Balloons
  • Cards
  • Gift bags
  • Silverware
  • Party favors

#9 Candy

You can find candy galore at the Dollar Store. From chocolate that time of the month candy to movie theatre candy and bribery, it is worth every penny. So, before you go to buy candy anywhere else, make sure you stock up on candy from the Dollar Store.

#10 Toothpaste

Never buy toothpaste for full price, when you can grab it at the Dollar Store for a dollar! Seriously get name brand Toothpaste, Colgate, from the Dollar Store. Not only can you get Colgate, but it comes in bottles not tubes so it doesn’t make a mess when you (or kids) try to squeeze it out.

#11 Kitchen Utensils

I bought my Betty Crocker strainer 5 years ago from the Dollar store and guess what, it still looks like new! Don’t spend tons of money on kitchen utensils, buy a spatula, spoons, etc. for a buck a piece! Odds are, you’ll want to replace them after awhile anyways. If you know someone in college, this is the first place you’ll want to send them!
