DIY: Ladybug Number Counting and Matching Activity/Craft For Kids
Here is a great and CHEAP activity for young children learning their numbers. Just make a ladybug out of construction paper and draw circles/dots for them to match the numbers to! It is such a simple craft for kids to do and they are learning math concepts at the same time, have fun!
Cut out two identical circles of black and red paper. Trim the bottom of the red one to make it look like the ladybug’s wings. Glue them together with the red piece on top.

Cut out a black circle for the head as well as white circles for the eyes. Draw ten circles with a black marker and fill in the dots in each one (1-10).
On a black sheet of paper use a white crayon and write the numbers. Cut out each one in a little circle shape.
Add some ladybug legs and you have yourself a fun activity!
Have your kiddo count the dots in the circle and find the corresponding number. The 4 year old loved it today! The only problem was the 7-10 dots were a little hard since she couldn’t literally point to each dot. Next time I would make the dots bigger.
Credit goes out to Vicky Van Ness for giving me the idea, thank you! :)
