Fingerprint Frozen Olaf Christmas Ornament
What child doesn’t love the Disney movie Frozen? Whenever I ask them who their favorite character is they will usually shout out “Olaf!” Why not make this fun fingerprint ornament for Christmas time? It’s a great keepsake for grandparents, parents, etc. just put the date on the back to save.
Materials Needed:
- Paint/paintbrush
- Mason jar lid
- Glue
- Blue paper
- Scissors
- Ribbon
Start by taking apart the top of the mason jar and tracing the inner lid with a blue piece of paper.
Have the kids first dip their thumb in white paint and stamp it sideways. Do the middle snowball with the tip of their pointer finger and then have them make the top one a little longer. Glue the blue circle inside the mason jar lid.
Once the paint is dry add Olaf’s stick arms, face, buttons, and some snowball feet! This olaf kind of looks distressed so try to make the mouth more smiley lol! To finish the ornament, loop a ribbon around and tape/glue it to the back of the lid.

Yup we glued our lid inside the ring! :)
I am just wondering… do you glue the lid into the ring? Or does the ribbon taped to the back of the lid keep the lid inside the ring? We were thinking that we would hot glue the lid into the ring, and working with 1st – 4th graders it would be simpler to tape the ribbon if it holds the lid in place.
Thanks! So far, they have turned out great!
Thanks Heather! :)
