Olivia is one of my favorite Instagram people to follow because she has such fun and interactive art ideas for the kids to do! She also has a Facebook page to follow. After I saw this paint splat activity, I just had to share with you all! I have never seen this idea anywhere else. It is perfect for summer time because you can do it outside since it is messy fun :-) I would make sure you use washable paint and have the kids wear paint shirts.

Materials Needed:

  • Washable Paint
  • Cotton rounds
  • Rubber mallet

Spread out a large sheet of white paper and put dots of different colored paint all over. Cover each one up with cotton rounds. Have the kids predict which color will be next and have them smack it with their mallet. Once they're finished, you can pull off the cotton and it's actually an awesome art piece to hang up!
