Paper Plate Shamrock Sun Catcher for a St. Patrick’s Day Craft

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day we made some paper plate shamrock sun catchers! It is very cheap to make if you have some extra plates and Christmas tissue paper lying around ;) It was a very gloomy day today with hardly any sun so I apologize these photos are kind of dark (bummer!) Hope you can make this fun art project with your kiddos!

My window glass was very dirty to take a picture with so I just held it up outside *guilty*

You will need these printable shamrocks, green ribbon, a paper plate, green tissue paper, scissors, and glue/tape.

Start by having the kids cut out the shamrock and trace it on top of the green tissue paper.

Then glue or tape the shamrock cutout to the middle of the paper plate.

Using a scissors, poke a hole in the middle of the shamrock and cut out the inside. You can tell them to stay inside the black lines to make it easier (this part you may need to help them, it’s tricky!)

Cut out the tissue paper shamrock that you traced and glue it behind the paper plate. Lastly, tape a piece of ribbon on top to hang it up.

Hang them against the windows to make them look awesome!
