Here's a fun experiment to do with the kids for Earth Day- Earth skittles! Watch as the skittles "melt" away into a whole Earth on a plate! So cool.

Supplies:

  • Skittles that include green and blue
  • white plate
  • warm water

Directions:

First you will want to prepare some warm water in a glass. The warmer the water is, the faster the color will disperse from the skittles. Next, separate the green and blue skittles from the bag & set aside. Then, set the plate on a flat surface. Arrange the skittles in a 'Earth' pattern. Finally, slowly pour the warm water in the center of the plate. You need enough water to cover about ⅓th of the height of the skittle. Then, wait.... the water will melt the skittles and fill in the rest of the earth with color.
