I made these Harry Potter Inspired Edible Wands & Golden Snitches for my twin daughters' Devyn & Jordan's 9th Harry Potter Themed Birthday Party. Everyone loved them. They were tasty & fun. They will cast a spell on your taste buds as well!
Wands:
You will need:
- 1 ½ C flour
- ¾ C butter
- ½ TBS vanilla
- ½ C sugar
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Red, yellow, blue, & green food coloring
- Melting chocolate
Now you need to:
- Using an electric mixer cream together the butter & sugar.
- Mix in vanilla & salt.
- Slowly add the flour.
- The mixture will be crumbly. Add a little water at a time until the dough holds together nicely.
- Split the dough into 4 even parts. Place each piece into a small bowl. Add a different color of food coloring to each piece of dough.
- Kneed until the food color is thoroughly worked through the dough.
- Freeze the dough for 45-60 minutes.
- Break off a small piece of dough & roll between hands making one end slightly bigger.
- Continue this until you run out of dough.
- Wrap in plastic wrap (making sure to keep the dough from touching, it will freeze together) and freeze overnight.
- Melt chocolate in rectangular bowl.
- Coat each wand in chocolate & place on wax paper. Make sure to work fast because the dough softens quickly.

- ½ C butter
- 1 C flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ C sugar

Now you need to:

- Slowly add the flour.
- Mix in the the chocolate chips.
- Again the dough will be crumbly. Slowly add water until the dough holds together well.
- Freeze for 45-60 minutes.
- Roll the dough into small ½ inch balls. Freeze over night.
- Melt chocolate in a bowl.
- Dip each dough ball into the chocolate & place on wax paper.
- Once dry spray with the gold food coloring. Let dry, then add a second coat.
