While staring at some plastic spoons I thought they could turn into little owl puppets! Success! Perfect little art project to make this fall.

Materials Needed:

  • Plastic spoon
  • Paint/Paintbrush
  • Googly eyes
  • Orange paper
  • Scissors

Start by outlining the owls body with brown paint and make the two points at the top. Take a tiny paintbrush and make squiggle lines (feathers) doing a pattern of yellow, red, and orange colors. Paint on two orange feet and cut out a triangle with orange paper (for the beak). Glue on some big googly eyes and let dry! You can also paint above the owl's head with blue to make it look like the sky OR paint the spoon handle green to look like it's sitting on something.
