Here’s a darling idea to do to your cupcakes for Valentine’s Day! It’s so easy and you can let the kids help too.
- Chocolate Cupcakes
- Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter
- Pink Frosting
- Sharp Knife
- Spoon or Butter Knife
Bake your cupcakes and let cool. Then unwrap your cupcakes. Cut off the top, and cut out a heart shape using a cookie cutter or a knife. Spoon a dollop of frosting onto the bottom half of the cupcake and put on the top half. Fill in any remaining gap with more frosting. I put my cupcakes in a new wrapper to serve.
I used the perfect buttercream recipe and added 1/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries and a few tablespoons of its juice with 1/2 tsp almond extract. The frosting was phenomenal and the perfect pink.
